Doctor CV Tips: Write a CV Hospitals Shortlist

5 min read · Updated 5 Oct 2026

Practical doctor CV tips for India: structure, registrations, procedure logs, publications and common mistakes that stop hospitals shortlisting you.

Put registration and qualifications first

Hospital recruiters scan for eligibility before anything else. Open your CV with your name, specialty, current role, NMC or State Medical Council registration number and your degrees with year and institution. A verified registration on your Quickfindy profile shows the same information instantly.

Show your clinical numbers

Numbers make experience concrete. Add a short procedure or case log relevant to the role you want.

  • Interventional and surgical roles — procedures performed as primary operator.
  • Critical care and emergency — bed strength, ventilated patients, codes led.
  • Teaching roles — students taught, publications and presentations.

Keep it to two or three pages

List experience in reverse chronological order with hospital, department, dates and two or three specific achievements per role. Remove school marks, generic objectives and long lists of conferences attended without a role.

Common mistakes

Missing registration numbers, unexplained gaps, unprofessional email addresses and outdated contact details are the most common reasons strong doctors are not called back. Save your CV as a PDF with a clear file name such as Dr-Firstname-Lastname-Specialty-CV.pdf.

Apply with confidence

Upload your CV once on Quickfindy and it travels with every application, so hospitals can open it straight from their candidate pipeline.
